Catawba Edges Chowan in Overtime

Ashley Bradford scored 2 goals for CU tonight
SALISBURY, NC - Erinn Wescoat's goal in the 102 minute was enough to give her team a 3-2 overtime victory over the visiting Hawks. Chowan falls to 1-6 on the season after today's overtime loss. The Hawks scored two early goals to get up on the home-standing Indians but it was the Indians who would have the final say in the overtime match.

Ashley Bradford scored back-to-back goals in the 24th and 26th minutes to give her team a 2-0 heading into halftime. Catawba scored two goals of their own to knot the game in the 48th and 73rd minutes. In the 102 minute, Wescoat tapped the ball past Chowan's keeper Kristy Brown after another teammate missed a header. The goal gave Catawba a 3-2 win over the Hawks.

Chowan falls to 1-6 on the year after tonight's loss. The Hawks got off four shots in the match, all of which came in the first half. The Indians had 24 shots in the match with the game-winner in the 102nd.

The Hawks will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday for a 2:00pm match up.
