FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - It took extra innings but the softball team edged North Greenville University in the NCCAA South Region Championship game with a final score of 1-0. The Hawks, who grabbed the top spot in the tournament, beat #2 Emmanuel College 1-0 earlier in the day to advance to the championship game, where North Greenville would have to beat them twice if they wanted to advance.

The Crusaders beat the Hawks 13-7 to force the second game in the double elimination tournament. It took extra innings but the Hawks held on to beat North Greenville 1-0 after scoring a run in the top of the 8th inning.

The Hawks, now 29-20, will have two weeks to prepare for the NCCAA National Tournament which will be held in Palm Beach, Floriday the first week of May.
