FRANKLIN SPRINGS - Brooke Owen's (at left) double in the bottom of the 6th inning gave Chowan a 1-0 lead and eventual win over Emmanuel College in the semi-finals of the NCCAA South Region Softball Tournament. Owen's knocked in Tricia Gorman for the win while Shellie Wimpey pitched a three-hitter to shut down Emmanuel.

The Hawks will now play North Greenville in the championship game. The Hawks are undefeated in the double elimination tournament where as North Greenville notched an opening round loss to Emmanuel earlier in the day.
