RALEIGH, NC - The women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at Shaw University on Sunday afternoon, moving them to 2-5 on the season.

Kashae Beverly anchored the #1 singles match but fell in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Amanda Spaulding dropped her #2 singles play with a final score of 6-0, 6-0 and Tara Lunney fell 6-0, 6-1 in the #3 singles match. Melinda Williams lost her #4 singles match 6-2, 6-4 while Brittney Johnson picked up a win on the singles side with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the #5 singles spot. Chowan won the #6 singles match by default.

Beverly and WIlliams matched up in double play but dropped their #1 seeded match 8-1. Spaulding and Lunney fell 8-2 in the #2 doubles match while the #3 match was defaulted so the third win of the match goes to Johnson and Jena'y Nelson.
