Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO – The baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Millersville University this afternoon, falling with final scores of 13-0 and 19-6. Today's losses drop the Hawks to 8-6 on the year.
The Hawks lost the first game with a final score of 13-0 and were held to five hits in the game. After throwing two scoreless innings, freshman Ryan Bradshaw gave up an unearned run in the top of the third to give Millersville a 1-0 lead. The Marauders used a five run fifth inning and a six run seventh inning to help propel them to the 13-0 win. Millersville pounded out 16 hits while holding the Hawks to five hits in the game. Bradshaw falls to 1-2 on the mound after throwing 4.1 innings, giving up eight hits, five runs, and striking out six batters. For Millersville Jason Long got the win on the mound after throwing six innings and giving up five hits. Jordan Whitlatch, Matt Crane, John Kellett, Zac Caito, and Nate Stanton each had one hit in the game.
The Hawks fell 19-6in the nightcap, giving them their sixth loss of the season. Bryan Hill started the game for Chowan and picked up the loss, moving him to 2-2 as a starter this year. Chowan tallied 10 hits as a team with Mike Taylor going 2-3 at the plate with a homerun and two RBI. Bagbey finished up 2-3 with three runs scored and one RBI with a solo homerun in the 6th inning. Matt Price and Whitlatch each had two hits in the game.
The Hawks will wrap up their four-game series with the Marauders tomorrow with a single, nine inning game.
