Men's Tennis Falls to North Carolina Wesleyan

MURFREESBORO- The men's tennis team fell to 1-3 on the year after dropping a home match to North Carolina Wesleyan College this afternoon with a 8-1 final match score.

Darick Gilman represented  the #1 seed; followed by Ratis Abolins and Jonathan Walker as the #2 and #3 seeds respectively. Gilman was defeated 6-1, 6-2 by Davit Minasyan while Abolins lost in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, to Marcelo Prata. #3 Walker dropped a staight sets match to Anton Filonov, 6-1, 6-1. Mike Fencil anchored the #4 seed, but was defeated by Fred Lemongo, 6-4, 6-0. Adam Moneypenny and Ira Coats rounded off the #5 and #6 seeds. Moneypenny picked up the Hawks lone team point in a win over Artem Alexandrov in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 10-6. Coats dropped his 6th seeded match to Dustin Hale, 6-3, 6-3.

The Hawks will travel to Raleigh to play against St. Augustine's. Match time is at 1:00pm
