MURFREESBORO- The women's tennnis team dropped a home match against Elizabeth City State University with a final match score of 9-0. Today's loss moves Chowan to 0-4 on the season.

Kashae Beverly anchored the #1 seed for the Hawks, but fell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Amanda Spaudling represented the #2 seed, followed by Tara Lunney as the #3 seed. Spaulding loss to Krystan Fleming, 6-0, 6-2. Lunney was defeated by April Whitaker in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. Melinda Williams, Brittney Johnson, and Jennifer Mitchell rounded out the #4, #5, and #6 seeds, respectively. Williams loss 6-3, 6-2; Johnson fell to Lauren Lee, 6-2, 6-3; and Mitchell lose in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

The Hawks will be in action again tomorrow as they host North Carolina Wesleyan College at 1:30pm.
