CHARLOTTE, NC - The softball team dropped a doubleheader to Queens University this afternoon, falling with final scores of 5-0 and 1-0. The Hawks fall to 16-14 on the year after today's doubleheader losses.

Queens pitching shut down Chowan's offense in the 5-0 loss with 16 strikeouts. They also held Chowan to just two hits in the game. Kaytee McLaughlin and Brooke Owen picked up a hit each in loss. Shellie Wimpey picked up the loss for Chowan on the mound, giving up five runs and striking out seven Queens' batters.

Mindy Byrd collected the Hawks' only hit in the second game where they lost with a final score of 1-0. Allie Kolezynski gave up six hits and struck out two batters for the loss on the mound through six innings pitched.

The Hawks fall to 16-14 on the year and will host Limestone College tomorrow afternoon at 1:00pm.
