Box Score 2 HARROGATE, TN - The softball team dropped a doubleheader at Lincoln Memorial University on Wednesday afternoon, moving them to 15-11 on the season. The Hawks have been in Tennessee since last weekend for spring break but have only played four of their scheduled eight match ups due to weather. Chowan fell in the first game 9-1 and then dropped the second game 5-2.
Chowan was held to five hits and one run in the first match up of the day. Tricia Gorman knocked in Allie Kolezynski to score the only run of the game for the Hawks. Kolezynski was 3-3 at the plate whie Gorman was 2-3 to collect all five of the team's hits. Shellie Wimpey pitched the loss, tossing five innings, giving up 12 hits and nine earned runs.
Chowan dropped the night cap 5-2 with Kolezynski getting the loss on the mound. Only three of Lincoln Memorial's five runs were earned but the Hawks were held to eight hits in the game. Melissa Woodrum was 2-2 with an RBI while Brooke Owen and Alex Allen each were 1-3 with a run scored.
The Hawks will travel to Lees McRae tomorrow for a 12:00pm doubleheader in their next outing. They will travel to Queens University on Saturday before returning home to host Limestone College on Sunday.
