Box Scores vs. Mount Olive College

MOUNT OLIVE, NC - The baseball team dropped a 5-1 decision to defending National Champs, Mount Olive College this evening. The Hawks were held to two hits in the game. Tonight's loss drops the Hawks to 9-9 on the season.

Chowan cut a 2-0 lead to one run after a sacrifice fly by Zac Caito in the top of the 5th inning. Caito's sacrifice scored Mike Taylor who reached base with a single to right field. The Hawks run production would stop there in the fifth inning as the Mount Olive pitchers went to work to shut the Hawks offense down. The Trojans went on to take the game 5-1 and improve to 15-12 on the year.

Chris Nelson picked up the loss on the mound for Chowan after throwing three innings, giving up two hits and two runs. Ryan Bradshaw pitched 2.1 innings in relief while #Bryan Hill@ threw the last two innings of the game.

The Hawks will play the Trojans tomorrow afternoon at 3:00pm to wrap up the two-game series.
