Bagbey goes deep twice in loss

AIKEN, SC - The baseball team fell to 9-8 on the year after falling to USC-Aiken with a final score fo 14-7. The Pacers took both games of the two-game series. Freshman Justin Bagbey continued to show his strengths at plate as he homered twice in tonight's game. He notched two homeruns in last night's game with the Pacers.

Bagbey got the Hawks on the board early with a three-run shot to left center field. The Hawks scored runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings to even the score at 5-5 but the Pacers exploded for three runs in the 4th inning and iced the game with five runs in the bottom of the 8th inning.

Chris Nelson (3-2) picked up the loss after starting the game. The sophomore tossed 3.1 innings, giving up seven hits and eight runs. John Morris, Tyler Chelenza, and Ryan Bradshaw each saw an inning in relief of Nelson.

Bagbey finished the game 3-4 with two homeruns and five runs batted in. Tonight's homeruns mark the 8th and 9th of the season to go with 28 season RBI. Mike Taylor was 3-5 while Matt Crane and John Kellett had two hits each.

The Hawks will host Post University on Saturday in a single, nine inning game. Game time is set for 1:00pm.
