MURFREESBORO- The men's tennis team dropped their home-opener against the Bulldogs of Barton College with a final match score 9-0. Today's team loss drops the Hawks to 1-2 on the season.

Darick Gilman played as the #1 seed but lost to Cesar Grobel, 6-1, 6-0. Ratis Abolins represented the #2 seed but fell to Matt Jackson, 6-3, 6-4. Jonathan Walker anchored the #3 seed following by Mike Fencil as the #4 seed. Walker lose the first set 6-0, then retired in the second set. Fencil was defeated by Diego Salinas 6-2, 7-6 (5). Adam Moneypenny and Ira Coats were #5 and #6 seeds, respectively. Moneypenney fell to Pier-Alexandre Desilets, 6-0, 6-2. Coats was defeated by Leandro Peron, 6-4, 6-2.

The Hawks will host North Carolina Wesleyan College on March 3rd at 2:00pm.
