Hawks Roll to Big Win Over Columbia Union

Box Scores vs. Columbia Union

MURFREESBORO - The women's basketball team wrapped up their 2008-09 campaign with a 84-42 win over Columbia Union College this evening. The Hawks said goodbye to seniors Acquanette Simmons and Alicia McMorris, who played in their final game wearing the Chowan Blue and White. McMorris scored a career-high 22 points and hit five three pointers in the win.

Chowan scored their highest point total of the season with their 84 points tonight. Eleven players scored, led by McMorris who dropped 22 points after hitting 8-17 from the floor. She also had four assists in the win. Patricia Price scored a season-high 18 points while also tallying five assists.

The Hawks shot 42% from the floor in the game and caused 28 Pioneer turnovers. The Hawks converted 31 points off of Pioneer tunrovers while also getting 20 points off of offensive rebounds. Chowan grabbed a season-high 51 rebounds with 23 of those being offensive boards.

The Hawks wrapped up the season 11-15 overall. The Pioneers remain winless on the season at 0-25 after tonight's game. Aida Gueye scored 11 points to lead the Pioneers.
