Box Scores vs. ECSU

ELIZABETH CITY - The women's basketball team suffered a 63-54 loss at the hands of Elizabeth City State University this evening in court action. The Hawks fall to 4-11 on the year after the loss. Chowan had a hard time getting their offense jumpstarted in the game, shooting 28% in the first half and 32% in the game.

The Hawks trailed 32-20 at the half but bounced back to out score the Vikings 34-31 in the second half of play. However the first half deficit was too much to overcome for Chowan as they trailed by double figures for much of the game. Najah Harris made a three pointer with :05 to play to cut into that double digit margin however the Vikings took the 63-54 win.

Three players knotched double digits for Chowan led by AJ O'Banion who had a game-high 18 points. O'Banion was 7-11 from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds in the loss. Harris ended the game with 13 points, three assists, and four rebound while Brittany Nicholson chipped in 11 points.

The Hawks will host North Greenville University in their next hardcourt match up on Saturday. Tip off is set for 2:00pm.
