North Greenville Downs Chowan on the Road

TIGERVILLE, SC - After taking a 34-30 lead into the halftime break, the Hawks went cold offensively in the second half and dropped a 68-53 decision on the road to North Greenville University. Today's loss moves Chowan to 5-13 on the year.

Chowan suffered a poor shooting outing as they hit 29% (20-70) from the floor in the game. After hitting 3-7 from beyond the three point arch in the first half the Hawks went 0-12 from the same spot in the second half. No Chowan players hit for double figures as they were outscored 38-19 in the second half of play.

Najah Harris led Chowan's scoring attack with nine points while teammates Brittany Nicholson and Maddie Cummings scored eight points and seven points respectively. Cummings also had a team-high seven rebounds in the game.

North Greenville won the battle of the boards as they grabbed 47 rebounds to Chowan's 38, including 17 on the offensive end of the court.

The Hawks will hit the court next Thursday, January 22nd, at the Apprentice School. Tip off is set for 6:00pm.
