CHARLESTON, WV - The volleyball team's five game win streak came to an end today as they fell to West Virginia State University in the opening match of the University of Charleston Invitational. The Hawks fell in straight sets with scores of 25-10, 25-17, and 25-8. However the Hawks bounced back with a thrilling five set match win over Concord University in their night cap. Chowan beat Concord with scores of 25-16, 19-25, 22-25, 25-22, and 15-5.

Antoinette McCollough tallied a team-high six kills while Melissa Hallum had eight assists against West Virginia State. Game stats from Concord were not available at the time of this release.

The Hawks are set to play at 11:00am and 3:00pm tomorrow. They will face Glenville at 11:00am and host-team the University of Charleston at 3:00pm.
