Box Scores vs. Catawba
MURFREESBORO - The women's soccer team dropped a tough match to Catawba College this afternoon, falling with a final score of 2-1. Catawba out shot the Hawks 46 to seven in the match.
Catawba College got on the board first in the match when Erinn Wescoat took a through ball and dribbled around traffic for a score from about six yards out. The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Indians until the 81st when Ashley Bradford made good on a penalty kick. With the game knotted at 1-1, Catawba's Chelsea Binder slid one by Chowan's keeper Kristy Brown off a corner kick. That goal in the 84th minute would be enough for Catawba to hang on to the win.
Brown ended the game with 19 saves, tying a season high saves which she reached earlier this season at Pfeiffer.
The Hawks, now 3-4 on the year, will host Concord University on Friday in their next outing.
