Box Scores vs. Catawba

MURFREESBORO - The men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision to Catawba College this afternoon. Today's loss drops the Hawks to 0-7 on the year. The Indians out shot the Hawks 27 to 14 in the match.

Catawba took a narrow 1-0 lead into halftime when Tim Finotti scored on a shot to the far post set up by Kevin Sorensen. They struck in the 60th minute when Chad Villiard took a ball and dribbled through Chowan's defense for a 2-0 lead. Just ten minutes later Catawba's Kyle Ganow took a deflected shot near post for a 3-0 lead. Dustin Johnson scored Catawba's fourth goal in the 71st minute before Chowan finally answered with a goal of their own. Zach Rahama took an Isidro Lopez pass and headed it far post for Chowan's lone score but it was too late to overcome the damage as the Hawks fell with a final score of 4-1.

Josh Cenci picked up the loss in goal but tallied six saves in 90 minutes. The Hawks will host USC-Aiken on Saturday in a 4:00pm.
