Box Scores vs. FSU

MURFREESBORO - Fayetteville State University used 38 team kills to down Chowan in straight sets in volleyball action at the Helms Center tonight. The Hawks tallied 28 kills as a team but were unable to put points together to defeat the visiting Broncos.

Fayetteville State won with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 25-23. The Broncos, now 4-6 overall, were paced by Chekimbrell Jefferson who tallied a match-high 14 kills. She also had three solo blocks. For Chowan Antoinette McCollough had a team-high eight kills and Melissa Hallam had 14 assists. Nicole Shoup tallied 13 digs to lead the team in that category.

The Hawks fall to 6-5 after tonight's loss. They will hit the court again on Saturday when they travel to Elizabeth City for an 11:00am match with Roanoke Bible College.

They will return to the Helms Center after an eight-game road trip on October 3rd for a tri-match with North Greenville University and Virginia State University.
