JEFFERSON CITY, TN - After a 3-0 shut out win at Warren Wilson yesterday the Hawks suffered a 3-1 loss to Carson Newman College this afternoon, dropping them to 1-1 on the year. Kristy Brown gathered 17 saves in goal for Chowan but the Hawks were out shot 34-2 in the match.

Carson Newman first got on the board in the 27th minute and added their second unanswered goal just minutes later at the 30:17 mark of the first period. The Eagles netted a goal just prior to halftime to take a 3-0 lead over the visiting Hawks.

Clara Danzeisen scored an unassisted goal in the 52nd minute to cut the lead to 3-1 but the Hawks couldn't erase the earlier damage as they fell with a 3-1 final score.

Chowan will make their home season debut on Wednesday when they host Mount Olive College in a 2:00pm match.
