ETTRICK, VA - The men's tennis team improved to 3-5 and won their second match in a row after beating Virginia State University 7-2 on Friday afternoon. The Hawks dropped just two matches, both on the singles side, at #1 and #6 but swept the doubles matches.

#2 Mike Fencil, #3 Raitis Abolins, #4 Adam Moneypenny, and #5 Jonathan Walker each recorded wins for Chowan on the singles side. Darik Gilman paired up with Abolins to win the #1 doubles match 8-4 while Moneypenny and Walker played #2 doubles winning with a final score of 8-6. Fencil and Ira Coates won #3 doubles 8-6.

The Hawks have two remaining matches on their schedule with VSU coming to town on April 8th and then a road match at NC Wesleyan on April 15th.
