Hawks Notch 30th with Win Over Apprentice

Murfreesboro - The Hawks moved to 30-17 overall after beating Newport News Apprentice School 10-1 this afternoon. Today's win marks the team's 6th straight victory. With yesterday's win over the Builders, the Hawks set a new season record for wins.

The Hawks pounded out 13 hits while the efforts of four Hawks pitchers held the Builders to just six hits in the nine inning outing. Anthony O'Brien moved to 4-1 on the year after tossing five innings. The freshman hurler gave up five hits and one run while striking out three batters. BJ Bylerly, Spencer Fagan, and Brandon Kelly combined efforts on the mound to shut out the Builders over the final four innings.

Three Hawks tallied three hits in the game with Billy Walling going 3-4 with three RBI. Walling becomes the new single season RBI record holder with 54 RBI on the season after today's outing. Zack Beasley and PJ Sadler each tallied three hits in the win while David Hughes continued his hot streak at the plate after going 2-2 with three runs and two RBI.

The Hawks wrapped up the regular season with today's win and will prepare for the NCCAA South Region Tournament next weekend.
