Box Score 2 MOUNT OLIVE - The baseball team dropped to 24-17 overall after dropping a doubleheader at #1 Mount Olive College this afternoon. Chowan lost with scores of 5-0 and 7-0 respectively. Mount Olive has been atop of the DII ranks for more than a month prompting ESPN U to shoot footage of the game which will air on May 21st.
The Hawks were held to five hits over two games while MOC collected 19 total hits. Brian Hill picked up the loss on the mound in the first game after tossing five innings and giving up nine hits and four runs. Hill now moves to 3-3 on the season.
Chowan picked up just two hits in the nightcap with Mark Peterson getting the loss. The freshman hurler pitched four innings, giving up six runs on six hits. Jordan Whitlatch and Jeremy Shaver accounted for the teams two hits.
Chowan will host North Carolina Central University on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 1:00p.m. The program will recognize seniors PJ Sadler, David Hughes, Joey Ryder, Justin Hollingsworth, and Brandon Hamlett.
