MURFREESBORO - The men's tennis team finished the season at 4-6 overall after dropping a close 5-4 decision to North Carolina Wesleyan College on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks three out of six singles matches and one out of three doubles matches.
Rich Abolins picked up his fourth consecutive win at the #2 seed after beating Brandon Coleman in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, and 6-2. Adam Moneypenny also won his fourth match in a row after winning #4 singles play in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, and 6-0. Mike Fencil picked up the 3rd win on the singles side as the #2 seed. He beat Dustin Hale in three sets, 7-6, 4-6, and 6-2.
Jonathan Walker and Moneypenny paired up to win the #2 doubles match with a final of 8-3 but the Hawks lost both the #1 and #3 doubles matches to drop the match 5-4.
The Hawks wrapped up the 2008 season with this match and ended up 4-6 on the year.
