MURFREESBORO - The softball team improved to 12-22 on the year after taking a doubleheader this afternoon from Fayetteville State University. Chowan won game one 4-3 and game two 5-2.

Shellie Wimpey pitched the win after giving up three hits and striking out five batters. Tricia Gorman was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI while Allie Hunka was 1-3 with two RBI after a two-run homerun in the second inning.

Krystle Thomas helped propel the Hawks to victory after throwing the second game. She struck out six and gave up six hits in the win. Melissa Woodrum was 2-3 while Gorman finished 1-3 with two RBI.

The Hawks will travel to St. Pauls tomorrow for a doubleheader.
