SWEETBRIAR, VA - The softball team went 3-3 over their six-game road trip this weekend after a doubleheader sweep of Sweetbriar College this afternoon. The Hawks headed into the game 1-3 after suffering two losses at Mars Hill College yesterday and splitting with Montreat College on Friday.

Chowan won game one 3-0 and the nightcap took a little extra as they played eight innings to win 6-5. Shellie Wimpey picked up the wins on the mound in both games. The Hawks battled back from a 4-0 deficit to beat Sweetbriar in the second game. Sara Teh started the game but Wimpey, after throwing the first game win, came in facing a four run deficit to help propel her team to victory.

Chowan, now 6-8 on the year, will host St. Augustine's College on Tuesday in a doubleheader set to start at 2:00p.m.
