Hawks Drop Game Three at UNC-Pembroke

PEMBROKE, NC - UNC-Pembroke pounded out 13 hits and forced Chowan to use five different pitchers in route to a 13-5 win over the visiting Hawks. Chowan was held to eight hits and left seven stranded on the basepaths.

BJ Byerly moved to 2-1 on the mound after giving up five hits and five runs in 1.2 innings of work. Brandon Hamlett, Spencer Fagan, Mark Peterson, and John Morris all saw work in relief of Byerly. UNC-Pembroke scored runs in six out of the eight at-bats.

Offensively PJ Sadler was 2-5 with an RBI and Nate Mitchell was 2-3. Billy Walling had his second homerun of the game on a 1-4 plate performance.

Chowan will have off until Saturday when they host Virginia State University in a doubleheader.
