Box Scores vs. LRC

HICKORY, NC - The softball dropped a doubleheader this afternoon to Lenoir-Rhyne College with final scores of 14-0 and 8-0. Today's losses drops the Hawks to 3-5 on the year while LRC moves to 13-2 overall.

The Bears connected for 16 hits in the first game while holding Chowan to three hits. Sara Teh gave up 14 runs in five innings pitched to get the loss, moving her to 1-3 on the mound. Tricia Gorman was 2-3 at the plate to lead the team while Brooke Owen added the Hawks third hit.

The Hawks fell 8-0 in the nightcap and were held to just four hits in the game. LRC got nine hits off of Shellie Wimpey who threw six innings. She gave up eight runs, four of which were earned. Owen was 2-3 at the plate while Jenna Lassiter and Jessica LeGrand each added a hit in the loss.

Chowan will hit the field again on Tuesday when they host Virginia State University at 2:00pm in a doubleheader.
