Box Scores vs. Shaw

RALEIGH - The women's tennis team fell to 0-2 on the season after falling to Shaw University 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks picked up three match wins by default while two of their singles matches went into third set tiebreaks.

Anchoring the #1 singles spot, senior Mary Tolson battled but fell in a three-set, tiebreak. Tolson won the first set 7-5 but dropped the second set 6-1. The third set went to a tiebreak where she fell 7-1 and eventually 7-6 in the set. Kashae Beverly, playing the #3 singles match, opened the match with a 6-4 win but dropped the next two 6-2 and 10-5 in a super tiebreaker set.

The Hawks fall to 0-2 on the year after today's team loss. They will host the Bishops from North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday at 2:00pm in their next match.
