Box Scores vs. Shaw

RALEIGH - The men's tennis teamopened their 2008 season with a road loss at Shaw University on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks fell with a final match score of 6-3 but picked single match wins in both singles and doubles.

Freshmen Adam Moneypenny and Tim Laurent-Russell picked up singles match wins to move their individual records to 1-0 on the season. Moneypenny beat his Shaw University opponent 6-4 and 6-1 at the #5 singles match while Laurent-Russell beat his opponent 6-1 and 6-2 playing in the #6 singles match.

Mike Fencil and Laurent-Russell paired up to win the #3 doubles match with a final of 8-2.  The Hawks will host North Carolina Wesleyan College on Saturday in their next match at 2:00pm.
