MURFREESBORO - The women's basketball team held on to edge out the Builders from Newport News Apprentice with a final score of 39-36. Tonight's win moves Chowan to 8-18 overall while the Buiders fall to 8-11 on the season.

Both teams had difficulty getting started offensively with the Hawks taking a 20-12 lead into halftime. The Hawks shot 25% from the floor, connecting on 14-56 shots while the Builders shot 23% from the floor in the game.

Brittany Nicholson paced the team with ten points and seven rebounds. AJ O'Banion followed closely with nine points and six boards.

Chowan will be in action again on Thursday night for senior night as they host Allen University. Tip off for that game is set for 6:00pm.
