Box Scores vs. LMC

BANNER ELK, NC - The Hawks hit nearly 60% of their shots from the field tonight as they rolled to a 79-64 win over Lees-McRae College late this afternoon. Five Chowan players scored in double figures in the win. Chowan improves to 3-5 after the fourteen point victory.

Chowan's balanced attack helped to propel them to victory as they netted 22 points off 19 Bobcat turnovers. The Hawks hit 59% (31-50) from the floor including going 7-14 from beyond the three point arch. Aaron Scott came off the bench to pace the Hawks with 16 points. He was just one of five players who scored in double figures today. Layth Mansour chipped in 14 points and was 7-9 from the floor. The sophomore pulled in a team-high six rebounds. Jaleel Nelson hit 4-5 from the floor and 2-3 from three point land for 13 points. Lando Morrison tallied 12 points and Mark Brown had 10 points, five assists, and two steals.  

The Hawks will host perennial powerhouse Mount Olive College on Wednesday night at the Helms Center. Tip off is slated for 7:30pm. The game can be listened to via webcast by logging onto the athletics website and finding the LISTEN NOW button.
