Box Scores vs. NC Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT - Ten different Hawks scored in a 70-48 route of North Carolina Wesleyan tonight on the road. With tonight's win Chowan snaps a six-game losing skid since the opening of the 2008-09 season.

Chowan used a 15-2 run to help propel them to a 32-17 halftime lead. Chowan took advantage of several Bishop turnovers and were able to convert 20 points from Bishops miscues in the first half. The Hawks ran away from the Bishops in the second half after shooting 44% (28-63) from the floor.

The Hawks dominated both ends on the boards as they grabbed 39 rebounds to the Bishops 28. They also had 14 offensive boards and 16 second chance points. Leading the way offensively for Chowan was freshman Ransheda Jennings who scored 13 points. She also had five boards, two assists, and three steals. Brittany Nicholson posted 11 points while Acquanette Simmons chipped in 10 points and had nine rebounds.

The Hawks will host UNC-Pembroke on Friday at the Helms Center. Tip of is slated for 6:00pm. Cheney University (PA) will tip it up with the Hawks at home on Sunday. Tip off for that game is set for 2:00pm.

Chowan now moves to 1-6 on the year after tonight's win.
