High Point Stops Hawks on the Road

Box scores vs. High Point

HIGH POINT - The women's basketball team fell to 2-9 on the year after falling at High Point University this evening with a final score of 75-57. High Point University, a member of the DI Big South Conference, jumped out to a 31-9 lead to start the game and rolled to the victory, their third of the season.

Chowan shot just 34% in the game, making 21 of 61 shots attempted while the Panthers put in 46% (26-56) of their shots taken from the field. For Chowan Taylor Hughes, a second semester addition to the squad, poured in a team-high 11 points and grabbed eight boards. AJ O'Banion came off the bench to net nine points and grab 11 rebounds. Both Brittany Nicholson and Maddie Cummings had eight points in the loss.

The Hawks will take a break for Christmas before returning to the hardcourt on December 30th with a road trip to St. Andrews University. Tip off for that game is set for 4:00pm. They will return to the Helms Center on January 10th when they host North Greenville University.
