MANKATO, MN - The men's basketball team dropped their fourth game of the season after falling to Minnesota State University-Mankato with a final score of 73-66. The game was knotted at 40-40 at halftime but the Mavericks hung on to a narrow victory in the Pepsi Tip off Classic.

Chowan had four players score in double figures led by Aaron Scott with 17 points. Scott was 7-12 from the floor in the game. Jaleel Nelson scored 15 points and hit three, three pointers in the game while Nate Walchuk and Layth Mansour tallied 11 points each.

The Hawks fall to 0-4 on the season and will hit the hard court again on Wednesday night as they travel to Virginia State University. Tip off is set for 7:30pm on VSU'scampus.
