Box Scores vs. Shaw

MURFREESBORO - The volleyball team ran their overall record to 15-8 on the year after beating Shaw University in straight sets this evening at the Helms Center. The Hawks won with final set scores of 25-5, 25-15, and 25-12. The Hawks amassed 42 team kills in the win while holding the Bears to five kills on the night.

Chowan had double digit kills in each set with 16 in set one, 10 in set two, and 16 in the final set. Antoinette McCollough had a match high 17 kills in 21 attempts while Adrian Cook and Tori Lewis each had nine kills. Melissa Hallam had 32 assists in the match and Nicole Shoup had six digs.

For Shaw Monica Grimmage and Nikita Grant had two kills each. Grimmage had seven digs while grant had nine digs in the match.

The Hawks will host Virginia Union on Saturday in their next outing. Match time is set for 2:00pm.
