Box Scores vs. VSU

MURFREESBORO - The Hawks rolled to a straight sets win over visiting Virginia State University in their second match of the tri-match tonight at the Helms Center. Chowan won with final game scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-16. Virginia State lost to North Greenville (19-25, 19-25, and 19-25)  in their first match of the night while the Hawks beat Norh Greenville in staight sets to go 2-0 in the tri-match.

The Hawks tallied 35 team kills while the Trojans has 19 kills in the match. The Hawks were led by Tori Lewis with 11 kills. Coming in with nine kills on the night was senior Adrian Cook. Melissa Hallam had 30 assists in the win.

For VSU, Jeneeka Benson had a team-high six kills while Reneisha Hill set up 16 assists. The Hawks improve to 13-8 o the season while the Trojans slip to 6-12 overall. Chowan will host St. Augustine's on Tuesday, October 7th at 6:30pm in their next outing.
