MURFREESBORO - The volleyball team ran their overall record to 16-8 on the year after beating Virginia Union in straight sets on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks won with final set scores of 25-12, 25-15, and 25-14.

Antoinette McCollough paced the Hawks with nine kills while Desaray Turner and Danara Green each added seven kills in the 16th win of the season. Melissa Hallam set up 29 assists and had two service aces. Turner also had 18 digs in the win.

For VUU, Lashira Williams had a team high five kills while Stephanie Bell had four kills in the loss. The Hawks will travel to Virginia Union on Wednesday in their next match.
