Box Score CHARLOTTE, NC- The Chowan University mens basketball team was defeated by Queens University of Charlotte 77-59 on Wednesday night.
The Hawks played almost even with Queens in the first half as the game was very tight. Queens led by just 6, 33-27 when the first half came to a close. The Hawks were able to stay close even with being out shot from the field. The Hawks shot 40% while Queens shot 50% from the field in the first half.
In the second half the Hawks went cold which enabled Queens to build a lead on Chowan. The Hawks went 0-3 from the 3-point line in the second half and only shot 39% from the field. Queens was able to shoot 60% from the 3-point line going 6-10 and shooting 42% from the field.
Queens was led by Darnell Evans who had 33 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Queens also got help from Reggie Hopkins who scored 13 points for Queens.
The Hawks were led by Aaron Scott who had 14 points and 5 rebounds. The Hawks Jaleel Nelson also netted 11 points and 3 steals for the Hawks.
The Hawks are off until January 22nd when Elizabeth City State University comes to the Helms Center for a 7:30 PM tip-off.
