Hawks Fall 2-0 to UNC- Pembroke

Hawks goalie Kristy Brown had 10 saves in Saturday's 2-0 loss to UNC- Pembroke

MURFREESBORO- The Hawks pushed UNC- Pembroke to the final whistle. But when it was all said and done the 4-0 Braves went home with a victory.

The first half of the match was back and forth with neither team being able to solidify control, with the half ending in a scoreless tie. The second half began much like the first until UNC-P's Alex McManus scored with 25 minutes left in the game off of a rebound. Then, only minutes later Jamie Clark found the back of the net from 30 yards out to put the Braves up for good, 2-0.

The Hawks played stellar defense behind their goalie, Kristy Brown who had 10 saves. The Braves put up 27 shots in the game while the Hawks had only 5.

The Hawks kick off a 3 game road trip September 9th against Christopher Newport University. Chowan will return home September 17th to host Wingate University. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 pm at the Hawks soccer complex.
