Box Scores vs. Guilford

MURFREESBORO - The men's soccer team fell to 1-4 on the season after dropping an afternoon match to Guilford College with a final score of 5-1.

Guilford started the scoring in the match with at the 4:05 mark of the game Bryce Hunsucker scored on a cross from Scott Meguid. Just ten minutes later Chowan's leading scorer Ali Abdi showed by he is just that after he took a one on one ball sent in by Jay Rivera to the far post and a score from about 35 yards out. Abdi's goal tied the match at 1-1. The match stayed knotted until halftime.

Guilford struck early in the second period, scoring in the firstt minute to go up 2-1 on the Hawks. Joe Rigert scored all four goals for Guilford in the second period to help propel his team to victory over the homestanding Hawks.

The Quakers out shot Chowan in the match 26 to seven, 16 of those shots came in the second period. Josh Cenci started in goal for Chowan, getting nine saves and allowing five goals.

The Hawks hit the road for a two-game road trip this weekend with stops at Lenior-Rhyne and Mars Hill.
