Box Scores vs. Elizabeth City State
MURFREESBORO - The volleyball team opened their 2007 home season with a straight game win over Elizabeth City State University. Tonight's win moves Chowan to 3-2 on the season.
The Vikings and the Hawks have a history in volleyball. Chowan has not beaten the Vikings since October of 2001 but tonight the tables turned on the Vikings. Chowan won game with final game scores of 30-28, 30-23, and 30-23.
Chowan had a total of 41 kills in the match, nine better than ECSU. Both Adrian Cook and Antoinette McCollough had 11 kills in the match. Kristen Stroud followed closely with seven kills of her own. Stacey Davis once again tallied great numbers as the setter with 32 assists in the wi. Nicole Shoup had eight digs while McCollough had three blocks in the match.
The Hawks will take off until Friday when they host the 1st Annual Chowan University Invitational. Check back later for tournament bracket information.
