Box Scores vs. Shenandoah
MURFREESBORO- The Hawks picked up a hard fought win on Saturday afternoon by overcoming a fierce opponent in Shenandoah University.
The scoring started early when Shenandoah's Robert Peck found the back of the net to give Shenandoah an early lead in the 36th minute. Three minutes later Chowan's Jay Rivera found the net off of Ali Abdi's rebound. Then, things got very testy. Shenandoah's Goalie picked up a red card in the 24th minute after taking down Chowan's Ali Abdi in the box. This set up Thomas Clay for an easy score off the penalty kick. After that Chowan was able to control the game being one player up.
The Hawks scored once again early in the second half when Ali Abdi gave the Hawks their third goal. The Hawks paced the game giving up one more goal to Adam Aldinger with just 8 minutes left in the game.
After the win the Hawks improved to 2-10 on the season. The Hawks return to action on October 3rd when they host Barton College at 4 PM.
