Box Scores vs. Concord
CONCORD, WVa - Depsite a solid defensive outing by the Hawks, the women's soccer team fell to 2-6-2 on the year after dropping a 2-1 decision at Concord University this afternoon.
The Hawks got off 13 shots in the match with Concord recording 22 shots.Kristy Brown played another solid game in goal, allowing two goals but getting 12 saves.
Concord scored in the 22nd minute to take a 1-0 lead into half time. The two teams played scoreless until the final ten minutes of the match. Concord make it 2-0 over the visiting Hawks with their second goal in the 84th minute. Battling to get on the board, the Hawks scored in the 89th minute when Amanda Cothern fed Meredith McCarthy for a score. Time ran out on the Hawks as they fell with the eventual score of 2-1.
Concord improved to 5-4-1 on the year while the Hawks fall to 2-6-2 overall. Chowan will host North Carolina Wesleyan College Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in a double header with the men's team.
