Box Scores vs. Wingate
MURFREESBORO - The women's soccer team played to a double overtime 0-0 tie with Wingate University this afternoon, moving them to 2-5-2 on the year.
The Hawks played stellar defense this afternoon, keeping the Bulldogs at bay after 26 shot attempts. Kristy Brown started in goal, getting six saves in 100 minutes of play. The Hawks played defense for most of the match, getting off just two shots in the match. Both Chowan shots were taken in the first half by sophomore Meredith McCarthy on the same play. McCarthy took a through ball and had a one versus one with Wingate's keeper Kathryn Smith. Smith made a great save on McCarthy's score attempt but couldn't wrap up the ball. McCarthy got the rebound and attempted another shot but it was just wide of the goal.
Wingate moves to 2-4-1 on the year after today's match while the Hawks move to 2-5-2 overall.
