Box Scores vs. Meredith College
MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University volleyball team had their 8 game winning streak snapped this afternoon in the Helm's Center by Meredith College. The Hawks had not lost a match since September 1 to Ferrum College.
The Hawks were never able to gain control of the game as Meredith continually put pressure on the Hawks. Meredith stormed out of the gate with a convincing 30-17 first game win. Then the Hawks countered with a solid game 2 to tie the match at 1-1. From there the Avenging Angels from Meredith College gave Chowan everything they could handle sweeping the final two games, 30-27 and 30-28, to push past the Hawks for a 3-1 win.
The Hawks were led by Kristen Stroud's 17 kills and Stacey Davis' 29 assists. Meredith was paced by Morgan White who registered 19 kills and Laura Sayabouth who had 39 Assists.
Meredith moves to 2-10 on the season while the Hawks move to 10-3. Chowan goes on a three game road trip starting on September 19th at Randolph Macon.
