In overtime Myrick would once again show up as he rushed the ball into the endzone from three yards out. Cline once again made good on the extra point to finally give Chowan their first lead of the game at 31-24. It was now the Monarchs turn to try to score in their overtime possession. Hill rushed from 16-yards out to bring his team within one point of the Hawks at 31-30. On the extra point attempt the Monarchs faked the extra point and attempted to go for two where the holder over threw the tightend in the endzone, giving the Hawks the 31-30 win.
