Box Scores vs. Catawba
SALISBURY - The men's soccer team dropped their sixth match in a row after losing to Catawba College 4-2 this evening. The Indians held off a second period comeback attempt to take the win on their own field.
The Hawks were out shot 28-5 in the match but scored two second half goals to inch within two goals of the Indians. After trailing 1-0 at the half, Jonathan Potter knotted the game in the 58th minute on an assist from Isidro Lopez. Catawba took the lead back in the 65th minute but leading scorer Ali Abdi made good on a penlaty kick six minutes later to knot the match at 2-2.
The Indians went on to score unanswered goals in the 76th and 78th minutes to take the eventual win 4-2.
The Hawks fall to 1-7 on the year after tonight's loss. Josh Cenci started in goal getting 12 saves and allowing all four goals.
