ELIZABETH CITY - The volleyball team extended their win streak to seven straight matches after beating Roanoke Bible College in straight games 30-17, 30-13, and 30-11.  The Hawks have not lost a match since their opening weekend at Emory & Henry and improved to 9-2 on the year after tonight's win. The Hawks have not won nine games in a season since the 1999 season.

Leading the way for Chowan in tonight's match was Christina Johnson, who tallied 6 kills and 2 solo blocks. Charla Hughes had 13 assists and Nicole Shoup tallied 11 digs and 5 service aces.

The Hawks will hit the court again on Thursday when they travel to Virginia State University for a 6:00 p.m. match. They will defend their home court again on Sunday, September 16th as Meredith College comes to town for a 1:00 p.m. match.
