EMORY, VA - The volleyball team dropped their opening round match at day two of the Emory and Henry College Invitational. The Hawks lost the match 3-2.

Chowan jumped out to an early lead in the match after winning game one 30-21. Ferrum bounced back to win two straight games at 30-21 and 30-25. The Hawks forced game five after taking the fourth game with a final score of 30-21. Ferrum held on to beat the Hawks in game five with a final of 15-10. The loss moved the Hawks to 2-1 on the season and set them up to play host team Emory and Henry at 6:00 p.m. for the third place match.

Stacey Davis tallied 40 assists in the five game battle to go with five blocks and five aces. Kristen Stroud tallied 15 kills to pace the Hawks while also getting four blocks. Antoinette McCollough also had double digit kills with 10 in the match.
